fan rack on motherboard broken!!!!?
I want to ask is there any way to replace the rack used to mount the cpu fan if it is broken or do i have to replace my whole motherboard.
I am going to hazzard a guess here that by fan rack you mean heatsink. This is the metal thing with fins. It sits on your CPU, and has a fan strapped/screwed on. These can be replaced, typically in a few minutes.
There are a few caveats in doing so. Heatsinks are matched to "socket" types. Different processors and motherboards have different sockets, so not all heatsinks will work with all combinations.
Your best bet is to write down your motherboard model number and take it to your local computer store and have them offer you a replacement. This is usually written in large bold text on the motherboard itself, near the CPU.
You may want to call ahead, as they may not even stock what you are looking for.
