does casio make good keyboards?
i want to learn how to play the keyboard but dont want to spend a lot of money on it incase i decide it aint for me. radioshack is having a sale on a casio CTK-700 61-key keyboard for about 70 bucks. i believe they also have a 71 key keyboard for about 100 and some i didnt really have a chance to look at it. as for what kind of music i want to play, i like the kinda sad sounding stuff, like what the guy was playing on the movie "the deer hunter". these good keyboards or should i look into getting another brand. also should i get 88 key keyboard because of the type of music i want to play
I think they are decent enough for a beginner. And since you are just "testing the waters", I agree it's best not to invest too much upfront.
Still, if you do decide to stick with it, you'll want that "starter" model to be good enough to get your money's worth for awhile so don't just go for the cheapest one you can find. I bought a Yamaha which is kinda "middle of the road" as far as I see it. Just be patient and don't just jump on the first keyboard you lay eyes on (though ultimately that may be the right one for you!
